Description: The Englewood first opened in the summer of 1949 with Joel McCrea, Virginia Mayo and Dorothy Malone starring in “Colorado Territory”—in black & white. Before being renovated in the 1980’s by the Fine Arts Group, the theatre served for about 15 years as a venue for live country and western shows as the K.C. Opry. The Fine Arts Theatre Group, a business devoted to restoring and operating vintage movie houses, is dedicated to bringing unique motion picture entertainment to discriminating patrons who prefer to view films presented in classic theatres--where the show starts on the sidewalk out front.
